World of Barbie

Updated: Dec 4, 2022

Sometimes, Instagram ads come through in big ways.

Instagram algorithm really has me nailed down when it comes to advertisement. Right now the absolutely love giving me sites for wannabe influencers and cool experiences in Toronto. When "Sips after Sunset at World of Barbie" caught my eye I immediately downloaded the app they wanted me to have and investigated further. Then I texted Tanya.

I had never heard of the fever app. However, it clearly is for people like me who constantly sits online trying to find the newest and coolest things to do. It has discounts on tourist spots (Hockey Hall of Fame, AGO etc), but also provides unique experiences. The one everyone currently knows it for is the Bridgerton Balls that appear to be happening everywhere. This is not a sponsored ad, but at the bottom I will put my referral code so you can check it out. There were quite a few events that caught my eye, but especially drinking at Barbie World.

Tanya, being a life long fan of Barbie, was immediately down for the adventure. We dressed up in our best Barbie outfits, and made our way to Mississauga.

World of Barbie is open during the day for anyone to attend. This special event was Thursdays only, for the 19+ crowd. Prices were the same at $40 for adults, however drinks were an additional price. I would have loved to see the difference between when kids are there vs just adults. It was clear from the start that when we were there was for influencers. We immediately were jealous of those who brought boyfriends to take pictures, and I regretted not taking my tripod for the first time in months. It was basically like walking through an interactive museum where the entire point was to take pictures and stage videos. It really did feel like you were a Barbie, able to live out any life you wanted. Rooms from the dream house, a space ship, science lab, and music studio were all there for you to check out and play with. The most exciting for me was the camper van, something I owned as a child. There was also a ball pit and a climbing wall, and of course I was the only person on there. Shout out to my Ted Baker's for actually being comfortable to climb in.

I will say, I definitely had imposter syndrome, being around everyone in pink while I wore blue (sorry, I don't own anything pink), and not having the proper equipment with me. It definitely brought out so insecurities I have about trying to get this vlog up off the ground. I probably would have enjoyed myself more if I stopped looking at what others are doing, but having social anxiety is always causing problems. Tanya worked wonders in helping me settle in. She knew how to pose, what shots to get, and to roll with my random punches, like jumping in the ball pit. It ended up be a terrific night out.

I would highly recommend this and similar events for anyone who wants a great night out. Obviously, they are tailored to specific interests, but if you find the one you are excited about it is definitely worth the hype. As I mentioned, this is not a sponsored post, so I wouldn't be pushing this if I didn't actually enjoy using it. Here's the link to Fever so that you can check it out for yourself. It's live in most major cities. You can use my referral code to get $11 towards your first ticket. ALICIAM48210
