Wayne Gretzky Estates

There's some really cool skating places in Ontario. Trails that go through the forests, ones on canals, and of course lakes. I couldn't find anything close enough to me, until I found the skating rink at Gretzky Distillery, so I called Tanya.

We headed down to Niagara-On-The-Lake, luckily on the way I read the website that we needed a reservation. I called, they easily got us in for both skating, as well as for a wine and whisky tasting. You could rent skates there, but we brought our own. It turns out we were there on free skate day, rather than paying $10. It did mean there were more kids than adults on the ice, which I did not expect. I figured being winery, and distillery it would have an age minimum. Gretzky Estates, is of course owned by the hockey Great One himself. It opened in 2017, and this is the first time I had been. They have wine and whisky, as well as vodka, beer, and ice wine. Their whisky cream is one of the few I think can rival Baileys.

I absolutely loved their set up, and would highly recommend making a stop in if you are in the area. I was so committed I even bought into their wine club. I guess I'll be visiting quite a few more times coming up.
