Let's Adventure Together

Updated: Nov 23, 2022

One year ago I found myself in need of a thrill.

I was fresh out of a relationship, and dealing with the loss of two grandparents. I had no motivation to leave the house, and even less to see people. The struggle with depression was getting too much. I needed to find a way out. While on a road trip to Ottawa I thought of the answer. What if I started a Youtube channel?

I have always been motivated by other people. If someone expects me to do something, there’s a high chance I will do it. So pushing myself to produce a video a week would be easy, knowing that others would be waiting for it.

The content itself was easy to come up with. Small adventures that would get me out of the house, connect me with new activities, and be able to bring friends along with me. In that moment “Let’s Adventure Together” was created.

In the past year I have been able to see so many places I never would have considered, and do some pretty cool things. I drove expensive cars, slept in a Hobbit hole, and explored an abandoned amusement park. Every week, it forces me out of the house. Some weeks just for the idea of “oh no, I need a video for Saturday” gets me off the couch and calling a friend to do a corn maze.

It has also connected me with people on my social media I had not spoken to in years. People who want to give suggestions, who know the area I’m going to, or love watching weekly for what I will do next. I have connected with people on Youtube who are big into hiking, who want to explore, and we support each other in our content creating endeavours.

I receive comments from people who want to come with me, and people who say they would never do what I have done. Both are great, because whether in person or virtually, I always say Let’s Adventure Together.
